Willow Basket Making Workshop

Ever wanted to find out how to make willow baskets? Then this is the opportunity for you. Small World Centre hosts this one day willow basket making workshop with artist and willow expert Michelle Cain.

Michelle Cain moved to Wales in 1993 where she taught and began making woven willow sculptures with groups. Michelle was has been seen at festivals throughout Britain and Ireland. Her giant sculptures have become regular visitors to many annual music events, the most popular in Glastonbury where the figures are twenty feet tall and tower over the festival fields. Michelle uses different colors and sizes of willow to create her sculptures. Her work is recognized as exceptional and original, inspired by the landscape and created in her secret retreat in rural West Wales.

As well as building amazing sculptures Michelle also runs workshops in willow basket making and small sculptures. To learn this traditional skill and make your own basket please book your place now on this highly desirable workshop!
