Dead Cat Bounce

000Dead Cat Bounce

A dead cat bounce is a term used in the finance industry.  it describes a pattern where a spectacular decline in the price of a stock is followed by a small temporary rise before resuming its downward movement.  It is derived from the notion that "even a dead cat will bounce if it falls from a great height".

Dead Cat Bounce ponders the modern world, the economic and cultural crisis and the possible futures suggested by the "experts".  In his relentless pursuit of knowledge and understanding, our hero talks to many people - a holy man, a fitness instructor, a mathematician who explains how an equation killed the economy.  Will any of them help get him nearer to the truth, and what will be left of his own life if he finds it?

Volcano Theatre's latest show is a poignant, funny and topical exploration of our need to make sense of the world around us, and a metaphysical detective story about one man's impossible quest. Directed by John Hardwick.  Featuring Paul Davies and Philip Ralph.
