Seashore Foraging

00Seashore Foraging

The second of our foraging walks! Lara and Tom share their knowledge and passion for the rich habitats of the Pembrokeshire coastline in this jam-packed day on the beach. Combining their knowledge of wild food and herbal medicine, Lara and Tom will discuss discussing sustainable harvesting and preserving of wild food. Learn about traditional remedies and get some summer tips, including how to make after-sun shower gel!

Participants will explore the sand dunes, rock pools and shore-line taking advantage of the exceptionally low tide to find a rich selection of wild food. Discover the remarkable and diverse virtues of seaweeds, from sushi to sea spaghetti and seashore crisps, and share in the amazing seaside flavours as you cook up a feast with your bounty in a fire pit.

The group meets at Poppit Sands car park, Pembrokeshire. Wear suitable clothing for paddling (jelly shoes), scrambling and walking. Please bring a basket, scissors, shrimp net and bucket if you have them. Children 15 and under are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
