An Olympic Message from the Society of Brân

The signs and portents tell that Small World Theatre's giant puppet Bendigeidfran will be present for the torch relay procession between 3.32pm - 3.55pm Sunday 27 May.

The ‘Society of Brân' remembered that their giant spontaneously appears across Wales, bringing ancient wisdom to bear on what are apparently random occasions. On this occasion he will be appearing in Cardigan, musing on the state of the world, the upcoming Olympics and the fact that the Olympic torch will be passing through.

What, we wonder would be his take on the torch procession? What relevance has it got to Cardigan so far flung from the hub of international sport and economic power? The Society of Brân reckon the 25ft giant would want to comment on the ethos of the original Olympic myth, especially the declaration that all wars should cease across the known world while the games are in process.
