Enjoy a day of creativity discovering the art of batik with artist Wendy Evans! This is an exciting process that uses hot liquid wax resist and dyes on cotton cloth. Students will have the chance to experiment using various traditional and contemporary tools and techniques. A not to be missed opportunity!
The skills learnt will be used in a finished pictorial or abstract piece of work. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience.
Wendy Evans BA Hons ATD is an accomplished batik artist and a qualified and very experienced art teacher, having taught to all levels for many years. Her contemporary batiks can be seen in galleries both locally and nationally or visit wendyevans.com at the Batik Guild to see this artist's unique work.

The cost of this workshop includes specialist materials. Early booking with payment is essential.
Places are limited to 8, so please book early. Our bespoke workshops are run with minimum and maximum numbers in mind so that materials and leaders' fees are covered by the course fees. Your place can only be held provisionally until we have received the full payment from you. We recommend paying for your ticket online and please present a printed copy of your receipt on arrival. Alternatively Small World Centre's open times are Tuesday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm if you'd like to pay in cash/ cheque. Tickets are non-refundable except when a workshop is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, in which case Small World will refund you. Thank you.
