Marc Gordon

Marc has been playing guitar for a long time and the last four years has seen him focussing on composing, arranging, performing his own music, as well as coaching and tutoring.

His musical 'roots' are in the Blues and in the past, as a soloist and in bands, has played Blues, Soft Rock, Pop and Welsh & Irish folk. More recently his tastes have expanded and he now puts his energy into his own compositions for solo performances. He also writes his own arrangements of other music for duets with female vocalists, with the addition of improvisation to challenge the singers to add their own special touch.

His great love is to feel the vitality of music that communicates images and emotions to his audience. The majority of his solo guitar compositions are descriptive pieces communicating his image of people (portraits), scenes or emotions to his audience.

As Marc enjoys 'fresh' music, many of his pieces are primarily improvisation around a concept framework, which means that no two performances are exactly the same. Audiences either get involved in discovering the images his music provokes or just enjoy the music when 'chilling-out'. When asked to categorise his music Marc struggles to identify a genre that suits, as his own special style embodies classical, jazz, folk, blues and rock. His coach has suggested "Isomorphism" as she feels that his music "provokes involvement in his imagery and also allows space for the listener to explore their own images and emotions.Cecilia was born and raised in a very large musical family in Canada.
