The Highcliffe Hotel is the perfect retreat for either the weary businessman or energetic family. Within short walking distance are two of the best golden sandy beaches and there are many secluded coves up and down the coast.
Further up the coast is the small tourist village of Newquay, with many shops and even some video arcades to entertain the little ones and big ones alike. To the South and a little inland is the town of Cardigan, originally a shipping port Cardigan is now a cosy town hosting many shops of both contemporary and rural nature.
The hotel itself is a cosy 15 room old fisherman's mansion, nestling half way up the hill named 'old school road' it has a wonderful view of the two beaches but a mere 2 minute walk away and also of the rolling Welsh hills that stride into the distance. The Highcliffe was built around 1842 for Capt. Jenkins,a sea captain who owned a fleet of ships in the bay. It stands on the hillside overlooking Aberporth, the bay,and the two blue flag beaches that we are very proud of. Many of our fifteen bedrooms have a sea view, they are all individually designed and decorated and all but one are en-suite.
